Peter is Vice President and Vice Provost of the Global Futures Initiative at Arizona State University. He is regarded as one of the world’s leading earth scientists. Peter is a member of the German National Academy of Sciences and is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, the American Geophysical Union, and the Explorers Club.
